The Haka: Masculine Aggression in Rugby

Our discussion of aggression being encouraged in sports reminded me of the Haka. This is a traditional dance practiced by the Maori in New Zealand. New Zealand’s rugby team, the All Blacks, perform it as a sort of war cry before matches as a way of intimidating their opponents.
